Forward Planning
The Forward Planning Team is responsible for the preparation of the Local Development Framework, responding to the development of the Regional Spatial Strategy.
The team also provides specialist design and conservation advice on planning applications, listed buildings and Conservation Areas within the borough. Our Landscape Architect provides landscape design and advice to make the borough an attractive place to live and work and the Tree Preservation Officer provides tree advice to the public and Development Control and manages the Tree Preservation Orders (TPO's) within the borough.
Forward Planning is also the home of the authority's Corporate Geographical Information System (GIS) Team providing paper and digital mapping, map data analysis and copyright advice for the authority. The GIS Team are also responsible for managing the corporate address database, the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG). The LLPG forms part of a National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) to find out more about the national gazetteer visit the NLPG website.

The Borough Council's Cabinet approved the Open Space Needs Assessment on 21st June 2007.
